A friend of mine just completed his post grad forensic informatics, and is returning to do a phd (I think). You will indeed be in the RC, forensics has a little tucked away corner no one else uses, except for a common room next to it which always seems to be locked for some reason. If you get lost I could easily make it worse point you in the right direction

I'd quite like if GGSL would bother to get in touch with me at any point. Their traditional slackness is getting a little alarming this year. A phonecall before I head off to Lithuania may be in order, I feel.

A friend of mine got sick of this and called them on Friday just past. He's away to Portugal tomorrow and wanted to know when we register - he was told it's either 22nd, 24th or 25th of September and is done in a meeting with a member of staff where you fill in your forms and pick your modules. It doesn't sound like we need to do all that queuing in the Assembly Hall this time, since the GGSL is a separate venture from the University of Strathclyde. My friend also said that the person he spoke to was either a bit clueless or disinterested and he couldn't get anything more specific from her, so I'm taking all this with a pinch of salt

They really are worrying me a bit as well, but from what I understand this sort of thing is what they do and we shouldn't be concerned. I've already called up once to confirm I even have a place there, since they didn't bother to tell me after I accepted their offer...

I really don't know to be honest, just know thats where I am... maybe something to do with community studies part of the course.

Yeah, last year I phoned up in mid-August to ask if I'd got in or not, and was informed quite cheerily that yes I had. I asked if I'd be getting some sort of confirmation of this over the next few days and it finally rolled through the door 3 weeks later - 2 weeks before the course started.

Last year I did queue at the Assembly Hall but I'm not totally sure I needed to - it was just easier than trying to make head or tail of the meagre info they sent me. I love my course and once it started everything was fine, but honestly, trying to get anything on the go or any info at all during the summer - that is, May to September - is nigh on impossible.
