| Questions about Strathclyde Hi, everyone!
My name's Aleks and I'm thinking about applying to Strathclyde University for next year. I'm simply looking for some general impressions, how you like it, various thoughts and musings which would help me make a mental image of the place.
In particular I'm interested in the Journalism + Creative Writing course, so if anyone is taking it or has taken it, I'm curious to know what you think of it!
Also, some general info about the area and everyday life sort of things. I wouldn't say no to any photos if you have them, too : )
Thanks a lot in advance! |

| Re: Questions about Strathclyde It's a really nice university, the staff tend to be fantastically helpful if you ever need them and location wise it really couldn't be much better.
Also got some pretty recently built halls and a union that is always good for meeting new people in.
Photos wise.. probably around about freshers week this year you'll see some get put up. |

Stew, happy to get some positive feedback, thanks for the quick reply! Could you develop the thought about how location wise it couldn't be much better? |

| Re: Questions about Strathclyde Ahh, but Glasgow doesn't have the Journalism + Creative Writing course I really really want to take. It seems to be pretty much unique in Scotland! Do you have Creative Writing at Glasgow uni? |

| Re: Questions about Strathclyde I dont think so! I'm only kidding about Strathclyde, it's a lovely uni. In fact both of my parents went there.
I'd recommend coming here and having a look around the open days to get an impression.

| Re: Questions about Strathclyde Coruscate, you probably did, I posted it there and Vonnie directed me here saying I'd probably get more replies.
And Mysterio, *facepalm* at not recognizing a joke It's just that most schools I've been to looked like prisons, so... ; )
I'd love to come look around, but I'm pretty far away so I'm not sure if it'll be possible. I'll try, though, definitely. |

Strathclyde is located right in the city centre and is excellent for all amenities, Glasgow is in the more vibrant West End. | |

| Re: Questions about Strathclyde Well, I've been working the clearing helplines at Caledonian Uni, the Journalism course there is accredited by the british council for journalists (or somethng) so you have to go for an interview and a test just to be considered for the course, the test is on current affairs and picking out spelling, grammatical and punctuation mistakes out of an english news piece, plus you have to take in 1-3 pieces of your own published work.
I know it's not Strathy but might help someone! |
