Are there hot guys on the course they want you to do? How much do jobs pay in that field? Is the department in a better part of campus (nearer a bar, say?) Maybe it would be a good move, don't rule it out too quickly!

I phoned up and the woman said "Are you sure you're getting a transfer? We don't have a record of that on the computer".

I remember when I was registered to be in the wrong year. I was meant to be graduating out of third year, but then I quite randomly logged into my records and had a look (I was checking for outstanding fees) where it said I was registered for 2nd year. If I hadn't spotted that mistake I would have been left standing at graduation with no certificate It took me a good 10 mins to convince Registry that they had made a mistake and that I was in fact qualified to skip a year (which is what I had done) and was ready to graduate a year early.
