| Glasgow Uni Facebook This actually has the potential to be semi interesting and less crap than Myshite or Bebaws, although it is virtually the same idea. The networking capacity (cough*stalking people you sort of know*cough) is slightly better. www.facebook.com
Not sure how I link you to my profile for a wee swatch but if you sign up I think I'm searchable under things like politics and history.
Anyone else have one? |

| Re: Glasgow Uni Facebook That's pretty frightening, come to think of it one of my friends has 90 friends in his St Andrews network. Bizarre |

| Re: Glasgow Uni Facebook i hate facebook. it's so elitist. only students can join.
and you can't make your profile viewable by the public.
it's crap for stalking because you can only view your friends profiles.
although you can add as many photos as you want and if someone uploads one with you in it it automatically goes in your photos as well as theirs...

| You can view anyone in your networks profiles, ie - The entire population of your uni. You get to see a list of their friends too, so that you can go 'oh, I didn't know I was friends with their friend.' |

| Re: Glasgow Uni Facebook Crap for stalking? It's the stalkers home especially now they have this page that comes up automatically to tell you what all your friends are doing and have said to other friends. You can view everyone's profile in your uni unless they make their profile private or limited. Facebook is very big in st andrews i think it's great to stay in touch with people and to make new friends and you can poke people and everything - but then i would think that because i go to st-andrews uni!!! I think it is no longer elitest as i am sure they are opening up to the public. http://standrews.facebook.com/profile.php?id=37106569

| Re: Glasgow Uni Facebook Facebook does have potential, but nobody really uses it compared to Myspace or (why oh why) Bebo.
Although really at the end of the day it's just another way to waste time on the internet. |

| Re: Glasgow Uni Facebook I was forced to join it by the English Erasmus students - seems that the only way to get some banter going is via "The 'Book".
But it is much better than Bebo or MySpace, especially when it comes to photos - can put a whole album of pics up within about 3 mins, rather than having to set a whole night aside when I put them up on other sites. |
