Exit awards

So i've done my degree, i've done my placement, and now i've decided i don't want to go back and do honours.

I've applied for a job elsewhere and they need to see the certificate in the end of july.

How do i apply for my exit award? Any idea when i can get it? And if i can't get it before the end of july, what else can i do to prove i have my degree?

Re: Exit awards

Er... not a lot IIRC since you don't technically have your degree until you get bonked on the head and handed the actual document.

I'm sure your potential employer would accept a letter from your department head or course coordinator.

Re: Exit awards

Hi

I'm not sure how helpful this will be to you, but I can but try - I did something similiar at glasgow.

I decided at the last minute not to go back and do honours, and graduate with a 3 yr degree.
I think the best thing you could do is talk to your tutors, and most importantly heads of departments : they will be able to help you.

There is normally a board of examinars meeting where they will discuss your case etc, and decide to let you graduate. Shouldn't be any problems, just a formality.

Although I get a sneaky suspicion this may have already happened - so you'll really have to get in touch asap.

Only problem I can envisage is that you will have to wait to November to graduate : most employers don't mind about this at all - you should have your transcript before November and that's all they really need to see .

:-)
