| Selling old University books! Help? Right, I have LOADS of old Pharmacy text books that just sit around my room doing nothing. I am starting a new degree in Sept and I am also moving out, so I pretty much want to get rid of these ASAP.
I can't be bothered selling them on Ebay/Amazon as the cost and effort of going about this total outweighs the benefits.
SO, is there anywhere you know of that I can sell these books onto? Or as a last resort, just donate? |

I was going to just print off a wee advert and stick it around the Pharmacy faculty, but I wasn't too sure if there was any book shops etc that take second hand books near the Universities?
I know Strathclyde is the only place in the Glasgow area that does the Pharmacy Masters degree |

| Re: Selling old University books! Help? Strathclyde uni has a book trader in the union. The idea is you go in and fill in a form for each book stating the price you want, and leave the books with them. Should someone come along and buy one of yours you get an email/phone call telling you to come collect your monies, minus a fee (was a quid last time I did it). Of course this isn't an immediate thing, and perhaps no one will buy your books. I've always sold everything I gave them mind you.
I'm unsure about whether you need to be a Strath student to use the service.

I remember using that once, as I only ever had one book still in print by the years end. Worth a tinkle I'd imagine.
As an aside if anyone wants a book about AI or Formal Specification they can have them for the price of a pint. I've had no joy selling either and frankly they're starting to annoy me. Sitting there on my shelf, taking up space....

| Re: Selling old University books! Help? I've sold most of mine through book trader. The way I saw it was they were a right off by the time I was finished anyway because second hand books aren't worth much, so leaving then to rot in booktrader rather than my house meant I might get sme money for them. I probably made about £80 over a year or so. It starts to feel like free money after that lenght of time.
