| Printing and Binding Right, I've got to submit my thesis and I need it printed and bound. Problem is there are a lot of colour images involved and everywhere I've seen so far is looking for 75p a page for colour printing.
That would cost me a fortune so where can I get it cheaper?
Binding I'm happy to get at http://glasgowbinding.com but I don't want to pay the printing cost there.

| Re: Printing and Binding Anything below 500 pages, I reckon you’re probably best off phoning round copyshops for prices. Anyone got a mate who works in one?
How you phrase the quote request might make a difference: Try asking for 3 copies of a single document, which comprises X number of pages, rather than asking for a price per page. Somewhere out there are copyshops who prefer to quote that way and will charge better prices for your kinda thing.
Tell them you’re happy to collate it yourself too, that may help bring the price down a bit more.
Off the top of my head, try the Kall Kwick chain, Exactaprint, and The Colour Company. Just go through the Yellow Pages, really.
I know plenty of bigger digital print firms who do great work, but aren’t really geared up for one-off jobs like this (more for doing 1,000x print runs or thereabouts), but might be worth a shot, you never know … Century 23, DTP UK, and Digital Print Solutions. All Edinburgh-based, but all good.

Will do me 26p a page printing but that's still pretty steep. http://www.mythesis.co.uk/
Gave me a quote of £160 for three copies inclduing hard binding and delivery. Is that reasonable?

| Re: Printing and Binding Sounds alright, but the only way you’re really gonna know is to get as many quotes as you can for comparison.
Have you tried Clydeside Press?

| Re: Printing and Binding To be honest, I'm a little surprised you need to put in 3 hard-bound copies. Seems ridiculous.

| Re: Printing and Binding Why the fuck didn't you print it off here? Idiot.
You only need two hard bound copies btw, the third copy is for you to keep, but I wouldn't have thought that you would've bothered keeping an expensive bound copy.
