I am in first year nursing degree and I am doing the mental health placement work for this semester. On this placement I get assessed on a presentation in the middle of Decemeber. As part of the presentation we are looking at the public attitude and perceptions of people with mental illness and also mental health.
SO, I would appreciate it if some of you could complete the few questions listed below and PM your replies. Put as much or as little as you want and obviously the more the merrier. Cheers!
1. What is your image of someone who is mentally ill (how they would dress, act etc)?
2. What factors do you think contribute to mental health?
3. How much do you think the publics opinion has changed of people with a mental illness over the past 10 years or so?
4. What do you think of institutionalisation of the mentally ill? Does it have any place in todays society? If so, why?
