| Phd thesis writing
Anyone else writing up a Phd at the moment?
I've got one experimental chapter to go, and then the introduction and conclusion/furtherwork chapter and then its done. Or, that's the plan anyways. Still waiting to get corrections back from my supervisors.
Really need it finished in the next couple of weeks. |

Most things are the enemy at the moment, but in particular grammar is the enemy. I've learnt that much of the stuff I have written has been in very poor grammar!
X isn't comprised of Y, merely X comprises Y (although usage wins over pedantry).
The one I hate most of all is the difference between its and it's, I always get them mixed up. | |

I reckon I have about a chapter's worth of decent data, which I've drafted.
Just doing piles and piles and piles of experiments at the moment. It's actually taking over my life. Trying to get an inhuman amount of stuff done today so I might actually have a weekend where I don't see the lab at all.

I've gone back over a lot of the data I originally threw away to find that it's not as crap as I first though, not ground breaking, but enough to prove a point. | |

Writing up a PhD, but I'm doing Politics so there was no real experimental/data collecting stage, just a bit of legal research and a few interviews. As a result the whole thing has basically been one long writing up process. I imagine it's a completely different proposition when you have to do lab work. I just want to get it done before my Research Council funding runs out and I have to go raking around the academic dustbin for grants.
