| So, who here goes? I went for the first time earlier tonight, never thought much of it at first but it got better as it went on. (ashamedly, it was the mini-mission I went to...)
So does anyone on here go to it? You might've seen me there tonight, I was wearing all black...does that narrow it down? Thought not...
Oh, and the bouncer stole and threw away my bottle of coke which I'd only opened like a minute before! Still, I would've been more annoyed if I'd actually had alcohol in it. |

| Re: So, who here goes? Um, well you have to stay away from the walls...(they're usually soaking with sweat, blood, guts etc but weren't too bad last night as there are fans now)
Mostly has lots of heavy music, the real 'goth' stuff.
Personally I hate Manson but I even found myself caught up in a chain of people doing the leg kicks they do in the M-Obscene video, so it was pretty fun.
Plus you do get some decent music, like Rage, Foos and so on.
£5 entrance fee, not sure if that applies to the over-18s mission aswell.
Oh, and it looks like it's great if you're single, random pullings all over the place. |

| Re: So, who here goes? The Mission is an Edinburgh institution, and seems to have found a good solid home at Studio 24.
Yeah, it gets a bit sweaty and hot, but what the hell - it's a rock club, right?
Yes, it's a fiver for the regular Mission, not just the wee kiddies one.
If you're going to be studying in Edinburgh, you'll soon find all the places worth going out to for yourself.
For starters, look out for Genetic on Thursdays, and look out for some of the more independant nights, like DKY, Keroscene, Vain, etc.
Most nights in Edinburgh are well flyered and postered, so just by exploring the city and checking out interesting wee shops, you should come across plenty of info. For good starting points, look out for flyers in the basement of Flip just over the North Bridge, in all branches of Avalanche Records (you'll find the Cockburn Street branch first, I'll wager), and in Pie in the Sky, Mission Control, Whiplash Trash, etc all along Cockburn Street. That should be enough to get you started.
Also, if you're going to be at Edinburgh Uni, make sure you join EDGAR, the Edinburgh Uni rock society. Membership gets you into most Edinburgh rock/metal clubs for cheap, and you'll also meet a bunch of thoroughly decent folk.

And yeah, as poprock has already mentioned, take a walk up Cockburn street. |

| Re: So, who here goes? It's probably not a good idea to even try smuggling drink in because there are also plain clothed staff inside who patrol the place. And even if you got away with it, it only results in you getting too drunk, being sick in front of the person you fancy and having to spend most of the evening inside the Sick Bay feeling like shite and regretting getting drunk.
By the way I've never experienced this, but helped a few kids to the Sick Bay after it's happened to them.
