Is it really shit or something???

| Re: Ok, so does anybody go here? Y'know, this is the first time I've heard anyone moan about the Mission on AltNation. Most folk seem to really enjoy it, if they've tried it at all.
I've been going on and off since '96. I like the place.
Head to the EMS website if you want to find out more about Edinburgh alternative clubs.
Generally speaking, Edinburgh has a much bigger goth/industrial/darkwave/ebm scene than Glasgow does, and a relatively smaller general rawk one.
Look out for the smaller (but unfortunately cliquier) specialist nights if you really want to get into the Edinburgh scene and make some new friends. A good rule of thumb is that if you see flyers or posters for a night which state that there's a discount for EDGR members, then it's likely to be a good, smaller-scale night out.

| Re: Ok, so does anybody go here? the mission/ asylum is alright, I don't really like the music but there are som good people there, the other clubs (nexus on a thursday and dky on a sunday) are a lot better musicwise, and I think the smaller clubs are a better way of meeting people. |

| Re: Ok, so does anybody go here? I was there on Saturday night, had a good time. Bit like being on holiday cause its all new and you don't know many folk, but thats probably the upside. Oh, plus, they played loads of good music. I had a great night! |

| Re: Ok, so does anybody go here? I've been quite a few times! I really like the mission. I like the selection of music they play and it's more relaxed than the cathouse, although I do love the first floor at the catty.
Surroundings aren't that visually pleasing but hey you're not there to stare at the walls are you?
Yes, there are 14 year olds here but not always noticably.
Have you tried Opium? it's a rock bar in grassmarket, it's got a dance floor upstairs and different themes up there everynight plus it's open til 3 everynight.
