Reported posts not acessible after submission.

I'm not sure if it's supposed to be this way, but I have reported a couple of posts in my time here and on both occasions I was not able to go into the reported posts forum to view my report, and the resulting feedback from the moderators. I was under the impression from forum rules and other users that you were supposed to be able to view your reported post thread.

I just get the big error message telling me I don't have access privileges.

it'll be because someone else reported the same itemm before you did and your post was automatically merged in, it'll be a problem with the permissions that im not entirely certain is rectifiable.

Maybe the post has already been reported by someone else? As far as I know only the first person to report it can see any updates.

It happens when someone else reports the post - if you get in first then you can see the thread, but if they report it first they get access.

Ah gotchas. Was unaware that happened, good to know more I'm not the only person reporting those posts on those occasions.

Draven - someone decided it was necessary to report that thread nine times, I merged and was getting around to doing the tidy work (letting folks know who'd been merged and no longer had access) but y'all too fast there.

problem with the auto merge is it takes some anonimity away from reporting if anyone else has done the same.
