Basic rules

Do not post advertisements in any area that is not specifically designated as an Advertising Area. Even in the designated advertising areas all messages must be of a non-commercial nature. Do not post links for any type of affiliate program with referrer IDs.
4. Try to stay on topic.
   If you would like to discuss a topic that is not related to the topic or forum in which you are participating, try going to another topic or forum or create a new topic.
5. Do not spam the forums.
   If you have something to post and you're not sure which forum it belongs in, do not post it in more than one forum. If you post the same or a very similar message in more than one forum all the messages will be removed.
6. Do not post copyrighted content without permission from the owner.
   Do not post any content that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights of any party.
7. Do not post telephone numbers or addresses that are not commercial.
   For safety reasons we recommend that you avoid publicly posting your personal information.
8. Do not pretend to be someone you are not.
   Don't impersonate any person or entity, including but not limited to, Alternative Nation Forums official, employee, volunteer, contractor, and/or affiliate.
9. Follow proper Internet etiquette.
   Do not type in all capital letters, over quote, make "me too" or "I agree" replies.
10. Do not create an excessive Signature.
    Your "signature" may not exceed four lines of text or . A typical signature contains the poster's name, e-mail address, web site, and a favourite quote or saying.
11. Alternative Nation's Officials have the final word.
    If you have a problem or a complaint, privately direct it to our Administrators, and/or moderators. Do not make it a public issue. They will then take the appropriate actions accordingly.
12. If you do not agree with these rules, please do not register an account.

Yup that's why I think we have to be a bit more strict with the rules. It's my impression this place isn't as good as it could be. It shouldn't have people getting abused/bullied.

but i know theres loads of memebers out there who think "oh its just <insert name> being a dick again.
they know how to take ppl

i can totally see why new members are put off by it sometimes

Exactly, we've started to just accept such and such being a dick when we shouldn't. No ones fault really but me, since I should be here more dealing with it. Mods should also be looking for things and not always waiting for a report, which they do but it's easy to just not notice these things any more if they are prevalent.
