much of what campestral says is very insightful and interesting. the fact that people don't understand him usually has more to do with their own lack of knowledge about his subject matter than the way he expresses himself.

No, you're right but you're talking as if this place has gone completely tits up and that you're at your wits end with the place. All I'm saying is that it's been worse and this thread is a complete over reaction.

What happened to active mods just deleting posts? If the mods thought the original posts were shit towards the new user then just delete them, send the new user a PM saying folk can be dicks and ignore them and after 4-5 deleted posts the new user would have a thread saying "welcome", "Forbes has your soul" etc. and that'd be the end of it.

Instead we've got folk wanting the account deleted, people getting banned and ISP's getting involved.

Complete over reaction by loads of folk here. fucking me included now

Aye, this place has always been a bit friendlier than most other forums I use, at least partly because if someone really offended someone else on here they could quite easily turn up at Bamboombastic Grand or whatever and batter them. I think the current system of deterrence actually works quite well. If you act up enough, people are going to get pissed off and start banning folk.

I'm not arguing against whatever Forbes has got in mind (I was against SD being shut and that was a stroke of genius) so whatever it is, it either won't affect me or it'll become unworkable and impossible to implement long before it startss to annoy.

Christ I cant believe the user asked for their account to be removed, seems a shame that folk are that narrow minded against one user. Im not shocked though, although being stricter with the rules would be a blessing.

Personally I'm pig sick of folk taking digs at me because they dont like how i look, wears a bit thin, i shouldnt have to put people on ignore because their too arrogant to behave like a grown up.

Hopefully this user leaving won't deter people from using the site.
