I'm sure I read/watched something about this and William Wallace had "Thus too will pass" tattooed on him and it was basically for the purpose that if he was feeling good and on top of the world he looked at his tattoo to remind him to cherish it because it'll pass, and when times where going shite, he looked at his tattoo to remind him it wouldn't always be like that.
Could be the biggest pile of pish ever but. But aye nice tattoo.
