It reminds me of a Escher litograph. | Just browsing the wall when friend was in getting a design done and saw the Koi and pretty much fell in love with the water ripple idea. Les made some changes when I came in this week to get it. Theres a few personal reason as to why I got the Koi though and the reason for getting them at time, mainly to do with the ending of some stuff and for a wee bit of luck in future, since they are consider lucky in Japanese culture.
