| Copyright symbol? Anyone know if there are legal issues with getting the copyright symbol tattooed on you? [c with a circle around it. no doubt someone out there won't know what it is]. I know the artist can get into shit for tattooing a copyrighted image onto someone, but what about the symbol itself?
Thanks in advance.
[also, only slightly related, I was in Borders the other day looking for a tattoo book for my friend, and the guy behind the counter was really helpful and walked me to the section with tattoo books and he was lovely, but when he typed 'tattoo' into the computer he typed it as 'tatoo' and looked really confused when no results came up. I felt really bad when I corrected him]

| Re: Copyright symbol? Legally, to cover yourself, you'd need the "TM" symbol after it.
So it'd go

| Re: Copyright symbol? The copyright symbol itself is not copyrighted or anything, so you can get it. There's no legal issue there at all. You can draw a copyright symbol on anything in the world and it's not an issue, as long as you're not doing it to claim copyright on something that you do not own copyright on. I don't think anyone else is going to claim copyright on your body, so it should be fine.
Also, with the guy in Borders and everything; hey, you're pretty smart. |

And feeling slightly smarter than someone who works in a bookshop was a brief moment of pride, which I rarely get, so I thought I'd share.

A copyright symbol tattoo? No it's not really. But you don't know what I'm actually getting so you can't really say much. And even if you did I wouldn't really care. So shush.

| Re: Copyright symbol? it depends on the context, if its ©<something> and you don't have copyright to <something>, someone may object, though the probably wouldn't care.
the © isn't copyrighted though so you can do what you want with it.
