AKA. The more people try to be different, the more they stay the same. | I'm not talking about the star its self, talking about the design around mines that have meaning.
I see were your coming from but people will get a star and say that oh this represent this person in my life and so on.
Correct me if im wrong?

I wouldn't say the subject makes a good or bad tattoo, but you can definitely see what is good work and what isn't through shading, line work etc. That is more important that what the actual tattoo is of, as Amy said, everyone is different. No one has the same taste. |

Correct me if im wrong? | Your post came across (to me anyway) as being quite dismissive of meaning that others may put on their star tattoos. I was pointing out that everybody is different, meanings and interpretation are different etc. I think the bit I added on at the end was probably counter-productive to my original point - blame it on threads of thought crossing. Edit: Sorry, had a swatch at your ink gallery and I think I'm thinking of someone else. |

What do you think is good and bad tattoo art? | This forum actually has a high instance of quality tattoos. The one that stands out as most striking being Bikuku's side-length musical notes tattoo (I can't find a pic at the minute). I also like 'This too shall pass' (accredited to Amy Devastator I think?) and a vine-on-foot affair that I fail to recall the owner of. I like all those tattoos for varying reasons.
It's not really fair, or often valid, to judge someone's tattoo purely on the basis of the image. Style, colour, shading and quality all play a part. The 'stitch' tattoo is noteworthy for colour and quality alone whereas the 'flowers' tattoo, whislt showing promise, isn't anywhere near as striking - atleast in the photo you've chosen.

yes i am a grown man, who has been getting tattooed for over the last 12 years and certainly long enough to form my own opinions on what i want to be on my body for the rest of my life. |
