I also recommed Kev at tribe 2. As said, he is very meticulous and will finish the tattoo to perfection. Good chat and awesome environement.

I'm also inching closer to my first tat. I've had the cash and idea set aside for about 3 years now, just making sure I want it. A very simple and discreet design, but still - it's permanent.

That's exactly what I done, I had 3-4 designs/ideas set aside since I was like 15, and finally got one only a few months ago.

Its a difficult thing to guage as there are so many factors that come into the tattoo. some tattooists are faster than others, until you start tattooing the person you can never really be sure how well the skin will react (for example being a heavy bleeder). we try to give a price up front with the exception of really big pieces ie sleaves/back pieces

True dat - didn't actually notice how badly my skin reacts until I got some really light grey shading done on my sleeve yesterday - you'd think it had been done in red & purple.

Steve Wrigley has done all of mine and I totally recommend him. But, you cant just walk in any more - theyve started an appointments only system in the last few weeks, as I found yesterday to my annoyance. Im half way through a quite big tat and got the first half done 3 or 4 weeks ago, then yesterday took the day off work, got up at 6am and stood outside in the pishing rain and cold and wind for two hours, only to be told when Steve got there that I had no chance.
Felt very, very pissed off. But because I love Steve's work (and its half done) I'll still go there.
The appointments system is obviously better for everyone - but only if you let folk know about it. Website doesnt mention the new arrangements and when I was last in a few weeks back there was no mention they might be changing things.
Annoying as fuck, but I still love the guys work - Ive been going to him for about 15 years now.
