| Getting my first tattoo. Ok so im just looking for abit of advice, Im wanting to get my first tattoo in the next few months. I know what im wanting give and take a few details, but i have no idea where to get it done, im willing to pay the price for the best i can get, i want it to be perfect. Also, thinking about April to get it done, but i go on holiday to Spain in June, will it be a problem ? Also this tattoo is on my wrist, but im wanting to get my second on my middle back, is there a problem with getting more than one in a certain amount of time ?
Thanks

| Re: Getting my first tattoo. If you get the wrist one in April it'll be well healed by the time you are going on holiday. Just make sure you put extra sunblock on it as tattood areas are more sensitive to sunlight. You might want to take whatever you're giving to put on it when it's healing with you on holiday just in the off chance it gets dry or anything.
There aren't really any issues with getting more than one tattoo in a short space of time....bear in mind the people who have 8 hour sittings to cover their backs, or get outlines done then go back 2 days later to get it filled in. As long as you are taking good care of them it shouldn't be an issue. Having said that, considering this is your first tattoo, I'd wait until your back from your holiday before getting the second one so you have experience of healing a tattoo and how your body copes with it. My first one was tiny and healed no problem, my second one was all round my ankle bones and up my calf and it was SOOOOOO difficult to heal and I wish I'd had more experience before I got it. My third was quite small and healed differently to the first too. Barely scabbed at all [ankle was very scabby] but stayed dry and itchy for an extra couple of weeks.
Hope that helps. What are you planning on getting?

| Re: Getting my first tattoo. Obviously I have nothing against folk getting tattoos and again it's obviously your decision.
but
No reputable tattooist will ink you if you're under 18. Your tattoo is something that you'll have for life. I'll assume you want to to look good now and for years to come. Just something to think about.

| Re: Getting my first tattoo. Meant to say, I would recommend Chameleon in Paisley personally, but it's worth taking a day to have a looking in the reputable places in town and finding somewhere that seems to so the things you want well, and that you're comfortable with. Have a look on their websites to see the work they've done and have a natter with whoever's available and see if you would be comfortable going there.

In that case make sure you do your homework because my comment about reputable tattooists still applies. Listen to recommendations, and then go and check out the artists (look at portfolios and see if they are particularly good at the style of tattoo you are wanting). If there's anything you're unsure of, make sure you ask your artist loads of questions.
