Tongue Piercing Question(s)

Hey am thinking about getting my tongue pierced, wanted it for a wee while and I was just wondering about somethings about it, like when i get it pierced i know its gonna swell up n shit, and I should clean it with salt water. but how long is it til i can actually eat again, and then until i can eat solids?
And am sorry if this has been posted before but i really am too lazy to search for it :/

yes it swells up - like having a golf ball in your mouth! the piercing itself is over in a flash, minimal blood, lots of pre-boiled salt water is good. back on solid food in about three days - reasonably healed in about ten-days-two weeks depending on your general level of fitness. I'd suggest high-protein milkshakes ( like akk, 'slimfast') for the first few days as they have all your vitamins etc. NO ALCOHOL! Watch the insides of your teeth - mine are all chipped from trying to eat solid food too quickly.

Well ive had mine done for about a month now and its doin fine. Took about 3 days until u can eat properly again, but even then its still quite weird n shit.
It doesnt affect my teeth much, if at all. Im gonna get a plastic ball on the bottom anyway, just incase.
Also, mine seems to have moved forward a bit but not too much, and i dont think itll move forward any more.

The piercing itself aint sore and it is over quite soon with no blood at all in my case. Its just weird and takes a few days to actually get used to.

Apart from that im still cleaning it with salt water and mouthwash occasionally and it seems fine to me.

I like it.

I just ate solid food striagh after i got it done, n it swelled the same as everyone else, for about three days,...I vaugley remember the piercer telling me to just eat normal..and my parents didnt know, so i had to eat normal food anyway.

I dont know if this is related to the food n stuff, but my tounge went an odd metallic colour for a week or so, was a bit nastie, n sum one else i know got that too. Its probally cause i ate but i dunno, its all better now though.

Don't change your diet, there's absolutely no need. Keep eating normally and everything will be fine. Use quite a stong solution of SEA salt to water, and make sure you hold it in your mouth for about 30 seconds.
As for the weird colour, I've never heard of that. Do you eat a a lot of citric foods? Maybe something you ate reacted with the metal. Dunno. Not much longer til my ear punch! Yay!

Hey, i got my tounge piercing four months ago,,,,but around the hole i have these bumps sticking out and i got them like 2 hours i got my piercings but there still there only on the front part around the whole... Is that normal??? How long do they lastç??????????

could be one of a million things and without seeing it i doubt many will be able to help you.

best bet is to pop back into the studio you got it done in and ask them.
