| Re: Show Your Piercings/Tattoos, etc, etc. I've been highly unimpressed with the girl who works the counter there now. I used to come in for a chat with Mark loads, and he always had time. And if he was with a client then the guy behind the counter (I can't remember his name but he was very cool) would have a gab with you no bother and take down any ideas or at least leave a message for Mark. I went in not that long ago and asked to chat to Mark about an idea and was told (quite rudely) that he was with a client and that I had to make an appointment. Oh, and he didn't have 10 minutes to chat about a design on a Saturday for months.
I used to love going to Custom but I've not been back.

| Re: Show Your Piercings/Tattoos, etc, etc. Cowgirl - Thanks for telling me your story, I appreciate it. Who was it that you saw at Custom then? That's disappointing about how it all went, especially as I know how looking forward you would of been when booking the consultation and seeing the final result.
And also, that's awful going in to say hey and stuff and you're met with a rude receptionist! They are also representing the tattoo shop so they should never have an attitude! Hmmm..... |

| Re: Show Your Piercings/Tattoos, etc, etc. I can relate, not from Custom but the receptionist at Tribe 2 put me off ever going there after telling me "You can't just put a darker ink over a tattoo and expect it to go away". Yes, yes you can.

| Re: Show Your Piercings/Tattoos, etc, etc. No problem at all! yea the reception girl said that to me too, and I was willing to go in midweeks after work too! I had the same experience, could go in for a chat and some good advice. now it feels as though you are an inconvinience. The last time I went both mark and the trainee at the time drew up a couple of ideas each, then I chose the one I liked best (which was the trainees one) and we modified it slightly. Mark then did the actual tattooing.
I was not given any options this time, I was told by the receptionist that it would be billy I would be seeing. I dont want to bad mouth anyone, I know these are public forums, but I really was dissapointed. Even if he didnt like what I was asking for, or didnt think he could do it justice, surely a good artist would say " sorry mate, just not my thing" that I could respect.
I went to Infinite ink as my friend knew derrek, and I have seen some of his work and its lovely. Drove over there and was greeted by a lovely lady who seemed genuinely interested in what I was wanting. she even suggested I let gillian work on it because she loves that sort of thing. It was totally my choice who I chose, but she could offer suggestions I hadnt even thought of. great!
I really am looking forward to seeing the first drafts now!!!

| Re: Show Your Piercings/Tattoos, etc, etc. By the sounds of it, it seems that this receptionist is causing problems. you cant really blame the artists or the shop (well perhaps for hiring her :P) as the reputation of Custom Ink has been great beforehand.
*now waits for this receptionist person to appear on here and gve me jip!*

| Re: Show Your Piercings/Tattoos, etc, etc. It just shows how off putting a receptionist can be even though the tattoo artist will do an amazing job, if the person at the counter has a bad attitude it does put you off going.....
But I've not made my appointment yet so I'll soon see for myself!!
Anyone had anything done by Marcus? His work is amazing!!!!
Or anyone got any new tatts they wanna show off just now so we can see? |

| Re: Show Your Piercings/Tattoos, etc, etc. Right, just a question... thought I'd just stick it in here instead of starting a new thread.
Got my nipple pierced on tuesday, and it like doesnt hurt at all, even when I fiddle with it and stuff (when cleaning it, not just randomly). Everyone else keeps saying it'll be sore for the first wee while but literally feel NOTHING and theres no swelling at all. All my other piercings have been a bit red/sore afterwards.
I know it probably seems stupid to worry that theres NO pain, but thought i'd check how normal it is. I may just have a higher pain threshold than I did when I got my other piercings since I was like 15 i suppose!
