| Microsoft Office 12 [2007] Currently available in pre-release beta form and is looking pretty damn cool for once.
Total re-design of the UI.
Word 12.
Excel 12.
I can see this selling rather well. |

| Re: Microsoft Office 12 [2007] some of it looks not bad, however, isn't one of the benefits of microsoft software that it uses a consistant menu layout / ui so that you know where everything is?
for example where is the file menu exactly? to save-as etc?
i can see the save button, but not everything else.
i guess its something that you have to use to get used to it.
I like the idea, and graphically it looks pretty good, however the layout of the menu items just seems a bit strange.

| Re: Microsoft Office 12 [2007] Early reviews that I've read have said predominantly one thing: ‘very pretty, but how the actual fuck do I find what I'm after?’.
I'm sure it's great if you've never used Office before. Or indeed any Windows application (UI guidelines? HELLO), but it's all somewhat counterintuitive.
Plus, you can't shrink the ribbons vertically, as far as I'm aware, which is a bugger for those running at less than 1280x1024. |

There are currently two beta versions, "a" and "b". "A" is highly unstable from what I've heard from some guys at work who've been testing it out too. |

Nope, it's all fine and dandy if you are a legit user with a serial code for a beta version. |
