but which box should I buy?

You don't have to pay £100 for a Freeview box, a £30-£40 one will do the exact same. Get one with a card slot and you're laughing.

Indeed.. if you just want the basics, then £20-£30 will do you fine.

i had a wee asda one in my last flat and at my mums (dont use it here cos i got virgin now) and it was cracking

still got it - dunno what its like working order wise now cos its been in packing, you can have it free if you want it - its not doing anything and if its no use to you id recommend a new one from asda

it was cheap as chips when i bought it and done me well for ages!

Argos have one at about 15pounds. HOWEVER, if you can afford one that you can record on, I'd completely recommend it. It's so handy just being able to press the record button without having to mess about with disks, or set up a recording for the whole series or record something 5 days in advance so you don't forget to on the actual day, and best bit about that kind of box, if you miss a bit of something, you can just rewind live tv.
