Why the hatred for apple too?
Don't get me wrong, I don't have a hard on for all things apple, infact, I don't really care either way. Playing music from my comp is a background activity. |
Itunes runs like a beaten starved dog on windows, and chews up a ridiculous amount of resources while doing so. I noticed my laptop bogged down immediately after installing it.
Plus the synching thing you need to do with ipods is a pain in the arse, takes fucking forever and renames all your files in strange ways.
Winamp lets you drag and drop stuff to an ipod wih very little hassle, and it's not difficult to find a theme you like. I just tend to run it fullscreen these days as I only switch to it when i want to rack a few tracks up or leave the visualizer running (which is to my mind, the best one I've seen)

the ones in purple on the playlist are what will play next, which you can do by pressing the Q button or middle clicking over a track.
Ipods and the like can be interfered with via the portables bit on the left. and you can play with the layout and colour scheme till your wee hearts content.
