| Sky HD - Dates and prices.. Quote:
Sky HD priced and dated!
Finally, Sky reveals details on when its Hi-Def broadcasting service will hit the UK homes.
Hot on the heels of yesterday’s news that the BBC’s Hi-Def coverage of the World Cup will be broadcast on Sky HD, Sky has just announced that its long-awaited Hi-Def service will launch in May. Just in time for kick-off on 10 June. And according to Sky spokesperson Tara Hicks they are “confident they will be able deliver” and get you hooked up in plenty of time, so you don’t miss a game. Fantastic news for footie fans and all of you keen to eek the most out of your HD-ready flatty asap.
The HD box costs £299 and the service will set you back a modest £10 a month on top of the regular Sky digital subscription. We’ve been badgering Sky for details on the size of HD box’s hard drive, but they’re keeping that info close to their chest at the moment. However, we’ve been tipped that an announcement will be made within the next couple of weeks. So stay tuned…

| Re: Sky HD - Dates and prices.. That linky doesn't work Al. Any idea if it'll be extra on top of Sky+ subscription as well, or will you get it free if you've got a certain level of package? |

| Re: Sky HD - Dates and prices.. It'll be the same as sky+, They will end up removing the extra subs to encourage uptake of the box and service, But that wont be for a while until High Def tv's come down in price to the level where it as more affordable for Most people.

| Re: Sky HD - Dates and prices.. HD boxes are sky+ boxes as well. if u pay £36 or more subs, u wont pay for the sky+ but the HD subs costs £10 and if u get ur normal box moved thatll cost another tenner too.
remember so far there are only abt 7 HD channels on sky and which ones u get depends on ur package.
im now trying to remember how much the boxes are. bloody expensive as far as i remember........ |
