Nintendo DS Wifi Connection. Please Help. Before I Go Mental.

Trying to connect to the nintendo wifi connection with my wireless modem, but to no avail. It recognises my SSID and it accepts my WEP key but when I test the connection it won't recognise my IP address. I manually entered the IP address but it still won't connect. What in blue blazes can i do?

I had this in my last flat. New flat and new router and thing is working fine. Try and use the router without the wep?

What kind of router do you have?

I seem to recall when I had a similar problem upgrading the firmware (or whatever its called) for the router seemed to help. Although as it involved me and a computer related task it took a lot fo time and endless amounts of faff.

If all else fails google "DS wifi connection problem" and theres bound to be one or two threads on the subject.

Aye. The DS and WEP codes don't play nice together sometimes.

Also, what's the make and model of your router?

Also, make sure you've not done something silly like set your router to JUST 802.11g - the DS and Wii are 802.11b devices, so you'll need a mixed-mode router/wap or a straight 802.11b router/wap

i cant get a connection on mines either - but i was told it was because the router was a belkin - apparently belkin and ds' dont play nice together

It's a netgear, not sure of the model number, but yeah apparently they don't work well together. i'm determined to make it work somehow though. It seems to be fine with the WEP its the IP address and the rest of the settings i have trouble with.

I've tried various solutions i've found on the internet, but none have worked so far.

Then the solution is to get the Nintendo WiFi Dongle - it plugs into any computer that has an internet connection and shares it to your DS or Wii. Relatively cheap also

its £30 from game and is a definate connection.

I have tried everything on the net but nothing works for mines.

think its a dongle thing to get this working
