| Rotating and editing videos Would anyone happen to know how to rotate videos on my shiney macbook? Got a few from Costa Rica that I shot with the camera portrait but they appear landscape in quicktime and I can't seem to be able to rotate them. I've got iDVD and iMovie HD but I can't find any tools in either which appear useful.

| Re: Rotating and editing videos I'm fairly sure the all-singing-all-dancing VirtualDub will do this. Can't say I've ever done it mind you, but given it's plethora of more advanced features I can't imagine it's lacking one to rotate videos.

| Re: Rotating and editing videos Indeedy.
I suppose that program might be a bit advanced for what you're after, but off the top of my head I cant think of any others which might have this feature.
EDIT Shit - scrap that, I cant find a Mac install for this Sorry, im being retarded tonight.

| Re: Rotating and editing videos The easiest thing to do it with is Quicktime Pro. Which would mean paying for an upgrade from the standard Quicktime your Mac will already have installed.
Learn from this: Never turn your video camera on end like you would a still camera. Video is meant to be landscape, so you can view it on the telly.
More geeky, techy options:
Try this plugin for iMovie called SimpleRotate.
Or try this method, which uses a free app called BitPlayer.

| Re: Rotating and editing videos Yay! Thanks Tony!
And aye, making a mental note to keep things landscape from now on...

| Re: Rotating and editing videos Quicktime Pro is well worth getting, you'll be able to convert easily between myriad formats, and do stuff like looping (it's a bit miserly to disable that in the regular version, but so it goes...) etc etc. Saving QT files direct from web pages is another bonus.
But naturally SuperTony has other options for you. Still, Quicktime Pro is a sound investment just for the simplicity it brings to a bunch of handy stuff.
