Windows version of Itunes does not play well at all, from what I've experienced, runs very slowly and actually gave me my first bluescreen that I've seen on vista.

First check that you have the latest version of iTunes, a lot of Vista compatibility issues were fixed with software updates. Then run through the advice on this page.

Apparently there can be a big problem with videos stored on SATA hard drives. It’s a problem with the HD drivers from NVIDIA.

Might explain the bluescreen I got this afternoon there, shame that near enough every pc in the last few years has sata drives as standard now, and nforce boards are probably the most common ones i use :s
