Is My MP3 Player Fucked?!

Has a power cut during the night and when I went to listen to my mp3 player (It's a Creative Zen V if that helps) it was in Recovery mode - 12 hours later, it's still in recovery mode.

I've tried rebooting it, resetting it and every time it comes back to the Recovery Mode screen.


Anybody know if it's fucked or repairable?

I don't understand how the power cut would have affected it? unless you were charging it or it was connected to yr pc etc?

If you don't get any help from the forum, I'd advise you to visit the Advanced MP3 store in Edinburgh, ocean termninal. Normally I'd recommend them at Buchanan Galleries but they've suddenly upped and relocated elsewhere and I'm not entirely sure where They're brilliant when it comes to advice for problems with yr mp3's etc cos they're not like Curry's and that who'll just focus on selling you a newer model.

This site suggests plugging it into your PC and updating the firmware to the latest version.

Of course, that'll only work if your computer can still see it...

It was connected to the PC when we had the power cut - I wasn't sure if it'd affect the player or not.

I'll have a search about for that Advanced MP3 store.

A loose connection was fusing the house. The connection has now been fixed.


Edit: I have the reciept for it, so I may pop into Curry's and see if it's repairable or I need to get a new one - It's not allowing me to upgrade the firmware.
