Network Woes

Just done a clean install of Windows XP and stupidly forgot to check my network settings before I started. Got it sorted with the latest Motherboard and network card drivers, XP SP2, Antivirus etc.

Now the computer is telling me that it's connected to the local network via a cable, but refuses to connect to the internet. What am I doing wrong?

Question: How is your network setup?
Is it:
DSL modem (or cable internet) -> Network Cable -> PC
or
Internet source -> Router -> Network Cable -> PC

Also
Start -> Run -> cmd
ipconfig /all > c:\hammerip.txt

Open c:\hammerip.txt in notepad. Copy paste into this thread.

It's Router/Modem -> Cable -> PC

Probably seems to have sorted itself. I think I was just being stupid.
