| Re: Exceeded BT allowance Hmm, aye. I'll keep an eye on my own usage then. The bird flatmate doesn't even know how to download stuff anyway, so it's between me and the other boy it seems.

| Re: Exceeded BT allowance I go over my limit regularly and never get charged a penny for the extra.
However, when I've been staying with my mum for a while and put her over the limit, she was charged extra, so it might be something to do with the number of BT customers in the area - everyone round my Mum's is on BT, everyone round here is on cable. |

xxx | even if they did charge for you going over their limit how is it baws? If you agree to a set usage limit and go over it, fairs fair I reckon, your own fault and they've every right to charge you.
That being said i think BT's broadband for what you get costs far too much money, but I understand their reasons for it being so high.
I'm also fairly sure they can't charge you extra without letting you know.
I'm guessing that bit was in jest though. Quote:

I don't understand how folk on capped services can manage!

| Re: Exceeded BT allowance 7GB in a month is fuckall. It might be better off upgrading, and getting the roommate to pay for the extra.

| Re: Exceeded BT allowance Well i've done fine for the year i've had a BT account, so fuck upgrading. Also, I doubt he'll want to pay the extra 7 or 8 quid a month just so he can watch more shit online.

Sounds as though it would be cheaper paying for the excess rather than upgrading. I had a quick look at the BT website. If you are on option 1 @ £17.99 a month then you get 5GB download allowance. But option 2 is £22.99 and only gives you 8GB. So really they would be charging you an additional £5 per month for 3GB which would cost you 90p if you paid the excess charges. I wouldn't upgrade if i was you. |
