Elaborate? You won't have network connectivity in safe mode, that's a part of being in safe mode. Make sure you save a copy of HijackThis to the desktop or somewhere easily accessible once you drop to safe mode.

That is so true, so what you must do is to select "safemode with networking"
and then it will give you a network but in safemode - but it's better if you do it without that and just drop into safemode without networking
