| Re: PC to TV how to get best quality Set it to 720p 1280 x 720 Progressive 16:9 (1.78) cant see my task bar, any way to resize it or anything?
Edit
Changed it to 60 hertz and i can see the task bar now, background looks slightly squashed but might just be cause i am not used to it.

| Re: PC to TV how to get best quality most 1080i/720p 32" TVs have a native resolution of 1366x768 try that.
if its a 1080p number then it will be 1920x1080.
mine scales down to 1024x768 over VGA quite well, but since you've got it on the HDMI it should run at 1366x768 nae bother

| Re: PC to TV how to get best quality best check the manufacturers website or the box if you have it, should say what the native resolution is for it, you might need a wee program like powerstrip or similar to set a custom res like 1366x768, it depends on the graphics card/drivers, for instance the newer ATi and nVidia cards let you set it from within their control center software, and i'm assuming if your pc/laptop has HDMI its a pretty new card in it.

| Re: PC to TV how to get best quality Just installed the new drivers for my card and the highest hertz my HD tv now picks up my pc if 30 hertz. Iy was 60 hertz before in update.
Anyone know whats wrong as my display on my tv is now slightly to big for my screen even thought its the correct rez. This happened the other day when i set it to the proper rez only thing was it was two big for the screen, changing the display to 60 hertz fixed it, only thing is now the highest it goes is 30 hertz interlaced.
Ive tried a few things like disconnecting the HDMI cable resent then reconnecting, also looked for the telly in my hardware manager, its not there so can't uninstall it. There are monitors displaying but both are the same name so don't want to uninstall the wrong one.
Anyone know how to fix this?

| Re: PC to TV how to get best quality Found a resize HD desktop thing amongst my advanced setting in the 8800's settings, just changed it so it matches. Although 30 hertz interlaced seems low but don't know if the interlaced means anything.

| Re: PC to TV how to get best quality Think if i went back to running the pc to tv via the vga cable from pc to the pc port as its called on my tv i would notice any real picture difference?
The VGA to HDMI just seems a hassle as the TV dosen't seemed to be designed for pc connectivity that way.
it seems the best option is vga as the tv has a pc menu when connected this way.
If there is no real pic difference i would stick to this as i can then have my ps3 connected to my tv all the time instead of having to switch HDMI cables all the time.
Also slighlty off topic, as i only have one HDMI port which is running the ps3 and the pc is connected to the vga port will i notice much of a picture quality decrease difference running the 360 through component?
i had my 360 running through the vga port on telly but if i can get them all connected at once it would be great.
Forgot to say the PC is running my extended display at 1360x768 throuhg vga perfectly fine

Aye, i've got more or less the same set up, with the Xbox over componant, shouldn't really be any difference between HDMI and Componant at 720p/1080i you'd only really notice on a 1080p TV.
