| i-pod wont play music....help? my i-pod has stopped playing music. everything else seems to work fine as in i can selecte "artists" and go through the motions to get to the tracks but once the track is sellected, nothing happens. same for videos.
the track wont even start, almost as if its paused right at the start.
tried different headphones andreseting my i-pod to the factory settings.
possibly the headphone connection in the i-pod itself?
just wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar problem? |

Id try the reset a couple more times if its not moving, most Ipods you hold down the menu and middle button until the Apple logo shows. Also toggle the hold button on and off between resets.
Have you updated to the latest software just incase?

| Re: i-pod wont play music....help? did you reset to factory settings via itunes, or from the ipod itself?
and do you put stuff on it manually, or just sync playlists/your whole library? |

can you feel the hard disk trying to do anything when you attempt to play—notably, any clicking or anything? (i assume you get the “play” icon in the corner but the counter stays at zero?) |

| Re: i-pod wont play music....help? Okay, riddle me this…
set your iPod to manual mode in iTunes (i.e., disable all the automatic syncing). if you expand your iPod in iTunes, there's a music icon below it (like the one under the main Library heading)—are you able to double-click on any of the tracks and play them via iTunes?
Alllso, what version of iTunes are you running?

| Re: i-pod wont play music....help? Actually, even more importantly—what sort of iPod is it, how new, what capacity, and what software version does iTunes say it's running? |

| Re: i-pod wont play music....help? everything I've read suggests that Apple don't actually know how to fix this issue (though they might), but also that it basically boils down to corrupt iTunes or iPod data
I'm sure I've come across it before, but I can't mind what the exact outcome was |
