| Re: TV Arial Converter I can confirm that old (no longer subscribing) NTL cables do indeed only feed BBC1+2, ITV1, C4 & FIVE as analogue - no freeview digital (even with box).
(I can also say that I think they also feed other stuff but it's out of the scanning range of UK television sets, I have a multi-country USB PCTV and it can find E4 & The Parliament Channel on a dead ntl line but the TV can't... ) |

| Re: TV Arial Converter Again, I wouldn't know how to install a backing plate. Or do anything complicated with TV arials, and I don't have someone around to do such things either.
How bad is the reception on portable arials?

| Re: TV Arial Converter Sometimes, you will get an analogue/Freeview signal if you plug an NTLTelewestVirginWhatever cable into a TV or Freeview box, but it is rare.
Your best bet's a wee boosted internal aerial if you don't have access to a rooftop unit.
Maplin have one for a tenner right now that I use, and it works a treat. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...aerial&doy=5m6
Better than some of the pricier ones we have, and the gain on it's low enough to be useful. |

| Re: TV Arial Converter You can pick up an internal aerial with an amplifier from ASDA easy enough but if you're in the city centre it still might not be enough. I've got one here that doesn't get a strong enough signal where I am in Kinning Park.
