| TV Arial Converter So I have a coaxil arial in my room, but a different plug in bit on my freeview box and my TV.
Can I get a converter of some sort for this, or do i need to buy a portable tv arial?
I know absolutely nothing about this sort of lark, so help is much appreciated.

| Re: TV Arial Converter Might just be a scart cable you need? Is it a kinda long/rectangle connection with loadsa wee pins?
If so, pound shops might have them.

| Re: TV Arial Converter Nah it's not a scart one. Surely I need to connect the freeview box to an actual TV arial for it work? Connecting the TV and the box via scart wouldn't work, would it, because there's no actual signal input?

| Re: TV Arial Converter Aye. You connect the box to the TV with a SCART cable, but you need a coaxial aerial lead to run from your aerial socket to the Freeview box. Did you used to have one plugged straight into your TV? You should just be able to use that.
The ‘aerial in’ socket on your Freeview box should be the same as the one on your telly was.

Does the socket in your telly look like either of those?
Some places/tellys are daft and need Male-to-Female cables instead of Male-to-Male.

| Re: TV Arial Converter I think they actually breed in the back of my cupboard. There always seems to be a few of them in there, yet I don’t recall ever buying one. The same goes for mains extension leads.

| Re: TV Arial Converter Aye Pete that's what i'm after.
I should've said the cable coming into my room is for an NTL box, so I don't have like another cable to plug into my TV and the NTL one and the TV/Freeview won't go together.

| Re: TV Arial Converter dunno if you can get freeview down your NTL cable, might be different now but i tried a few years back and it didn't work, might need and external terrestrial cable for the freeview box

| Re: TV Arial Converter The NTL cable is not an aerial cable. It doesn’t plug in to the back of your telly, or your Freeview box. You need to get a normal aerial, either a crappy wee indoor one or a cable running up to a proper one on the roof.

Crap. | Check with your Landlord/Factor. Your flat probably has an aerial and the cables, but NTL or whoever will have just replaced the aerial connection with the cable one at some point.

| Re: TV Arial Converter But my flatmate is using the NTL one and I reckon you can't plug two in at the same time.
