I just noticed a crack in the case of my MacBook, to the right of the trackpad, just above the IR sensor and presumably just above where the magnets live. It's not too bad at the moment but it's exactly where my hand/wrist rests so will very likely get worse. On further investigation, I also found a hairline crack all the way along the front side, which isn't as bad but still a bit worrying.
Does anyone have any idea about warranty repairs for this sort of thing? I've never dropped it, and if you look at the rest of the case it's pretty much pristine.
Google suggests that it's a fairly common problem with MacBooks, so I've booked an appointment with the "Genius" Bar, but I'd quite like to go armed with a decent response to the inevitable "we can't do that under warranty, five million pounds please" and "you've blatantly dropped it, get tae."
