Exclamation Anyone know where to get Acer Aspire Recovery Discs

A family members laptop (Aspire 5050) was taken over by a virus and it scrubbed a lot of windows.

I managed to re-install some window items but it keeps coming up with blue screen of death and many other problems

I went to the recovery console and it only has two options, 1 is restore to factory settings, however i can not get into this as no one knows the password and i used the default 000000 and it doesnt work.
The only other way to restore it without them splashing out £100 to send it to Acer is D2Ds but they do not have copies of them.

Is there any other ways of getting copies of these discs?

Can you not just get a Windows disk and reformat it?! I done that as soon as I got my Acer pc cos it was full of crap anyways.

As long as its not set up as Raid, then you'll have a bit of a problem.

Re: Anyone know where to get Acer Aspire Recovery Discs

I have a windows disk, i started it, it looked like it was working well and then it asked for a disc 2 which there isnt one
the user_guides cds apparently dont work.
Im trying everything to find out what this bleeding password is or even reset it but there seems to be no solutions

I managed to re-install the corrupt files in windows but every now and then it shows different blue screens of death although on the upside it took 30 mins to load up and now takes 5 so i have done something right. however, 2 out of 4 times i turn it on it keeps saying Operating system not found and if i manage to pass that it likes to go into windows xp scan (FAT32) every time i manage to get to the windows loading screen which takes some time.

i think the laptop is well and truely fooked! was just hoping to find a way of fixing it
