can you still play cd's and stuff? is it just the ripping thats not working?
My laptop has decided to start being a complete dick lately. It is refusing to let me rip new CDs onto windows media player.
Both of the CDs I tried ripping onto it are in perfect condition so it's not refusing to recognise them because they are all scratched up or anything.
When I put a CD it makes noises like it's going to start ripping, then it gives up.
Help.
I know feck all about computers so keep any answers dumbed down please
Thanks
I'd hate to take a bite out of you. You're a cookie full of arsenic.
Nah can't do anything CD related actually.
Bugger.

Do you have permission from the copyright holder of these CDs?
Yo
Yeah. I phoned Jerry Cantrell this morning.
It's not got one of those copy protect things on it that stops you putting it on your computer.
First thing I checked.

It's making a hell of a lot of noise, like it's trying to rip it but then it just stops.
Haven't a clue, really.
So it could be the whole drive.

Look up your laptops model number on ebay with 'cd drive' as part of the search, get a new one, swap it out.
