GeForce graphics card problem

Right, since getting another trojan and cleaning my drive with nod32 my graphics drivers appear to have disappeared.

Downloaded new ones and, after agreeing to install the drivers it boots up the installshield window and delivers the message "The Nvidia setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware" and promptly exits.

Annoyingly I had this problem before when installing the bugger in the first place, I just can't remember how I resolved it.

Help?

if not it may be a fucked registry thing caused by the virus, do you have any other slots you can put the gfx card in to see if itll redect it?

Nah, it installed fine, asked me to restart, then made no difference.

Its maddening.

its a registry FUCK then, download some sort of delicious registry fixer/cleaner and run it again

sometimes you get like a file on the Graphics driver disc that erases all traces of drivers/removes all traces from registry so you can start again

(Hoped to never have to revisit PC maintenance, but it seems there is no alternative.)

im not sure, hopefully someone else will, im pyoor PC LITERATE so i do anything to do with fuct registry by hand, but i really dont wanna touch yours, especially over the internet, would be a nightmare.

Did you try the "Go into Device Manager and delete the entry for the card in there, then reboot" method?

Does that actually do anything beyond making it bring up a windows searching for drivers?

if it stays on searching forever, registry is PROPERLY fucked, may possibly need windows reinstall.

Nah, comes up saying 'cannot find' fairly quickly as per.
