| Re: No sound card?? Go to device manager and see if there's an audio device listed there anywhere, if so, hit uninstall, then run wondows update and t *should* do the work for you.
Failig that, run dxdiag again, get your motherboard model number, throw trhat into google and get the drivers from the manufacturers site. |

| Re: No sound card?? The only way I know of to find your motherboard make is to remove your side panel and have a look for a serial number
BUT
poking about in there can cause serious damage (static electricity). Wait and see if someone knows another way, because knowing me there's a much easier way which has much less risk

There isnt a listed item named motherboard. I know, im thick! | whatever is listed on dxdiag as 'system model'. You probably won't have a maker name there but the serial number should be enough for google. |

Delete anyhting that looks liek a sound driver, reboot, then try installing the sound drivers again. |

| Re: No sound card?? Ok, one last question before I do the dreaded wiping and rebooting of the comp. If I restore the comp to a time I knew for definite I had the driver, will the driver appear again? Or am I thinking of the restore tool wrong?
