iPhone giving my laptops wireless connection jip?

I've been having problems with my laptop (Dell Inspiron 6000 running XP Pro) disconnecting periodically from my wireless network (well actually just dropping internet connection, I think it's still connected to the router).

I noticed the other day that I only have this problem when my housemate is in the house...which leads me to think that it might have something to do with his iphone which automatically connects to the network when in range. Is this a possibility or just coincidence? Any fixes?

I would doubt that's the cause, but ask him to switch off Wi-Fi on his phone to check if you still have the problem.
