| Re: I dont want an iPod, what MP3 player should i get? trying to find an mp3 player for the wife and i was tempted by one of these as its pretty cheap, 50 hour battery life on a full charge and with a 3 minute quick charge you get 3 hours out of it |

| Re: I dont want an iPod, what MP3 player should i get? If you're already an iTunes/iPod house, couldn't go wrong with the Nano or a Shuffle - maybe not a 3minute quick charge, but then you won't need to bother loading multiple pieces of software. |

| Re: I dont want an iPod, what MP3 player should i get? nano is a little small in my book and she doesnt really want one of those. Shuffle is off the cards as she really wants something with at least a simple screen |

| Re: I dont want an iPod, what MP3 player should i get? It looks pretty, I'll give you that - I know Sony's trying to rebrand their Walkman image to the mp3 handheld market, but all I hear is nightmare stories regarding the software |

There are also alternative programs you can use, if SonicStage proves to be that bad. I had an iPod (4G, 20gb) for 6 months and hated it. Right down to the touch-wheel which irritated me, the sound quality that made even really good headphones sound crunchy and tinny, and the fact that it would crash with no way to easily reset it. Never saw what all the fuss was about myself.
For the record, I'm a proud Sony HD5 owner. I'll never go back. |

| Re: I dont want an iPod, what MP3 player should i get? I'm still moist with my iRiver H10, latest firmware update makes it run like a dream. With the massive choice on the market its tricky to get the right unit these days, and at the risk of pissing of the mac geeks i can't see what the ipod has nowadays over the competition besides an established market name.

| Re: I dont want an iPod, what MP3 player should i get? The Sony Bean seems to have had mixed reviews, the cons mainly concerning SonicStage. It might be worth looking at one of the new Walkman NW-A1000s which have new software. |
