Tell me about it i'm RAGING, i love my ipod and i'm lost without my music but apparently they don't believe my warranty is still valid. I have to fax them all this shite then wait for confirmation and whatever. It may have to get sent to America blah fucking blah. Don't get me wrong the Ipod was great but i feel like stoating it off a wall now.
Sony have now changed teh sw used with teh new walkmans to "Connect" no idea what its like but by all accounts it is better than sonicstage
The Sony software really was never as bad as some people say. SonicStage is the old one, they've replaced it with Connect Player which is their take on iTunes.
Is it quite reasonable to use would you say?? I've always found Sony quite reliable but the bad reviews put me off a little.Originally Posted by Lyris

I'm actually really tempted to buy a Violet Walkman right now but my bf would kill me haha. I like the look of them its really unusual. Plus i hear the sound quality is out of this world.
The sound quality on the 6Gb one I tested was amazing. The 20Gb will be exactly the same.
Connect has always been thier online shop and was available through soundstage though so its always been like Itunes
In fact the new version branded as Connect is just Soundstage V3.3
Seems to have fixed a few old problems and they seem to finally have got a hang of playlists but other than that its still the same old soundstage really.
In fact to be perfectly honest the new version crashes more often than the old one
And I was talking bollocks abouthte playlists. They still insist on copying over a seperate copy of the song for every playlist entry it has rather than just one copy of the song but used in multiple playlists. What the feck is the point in that?

I nearly bought the Sony Walkman today, the only thing holding me back is if buy it and it dies on me after 8 months. I'd hate to spend that amount of money again, only to be disappointed.
Everything from Sony comes with a One Year manufacturer's warranty. Don't be scared to deal with Sony - they are some of the most helpful people I've ever dealt with. My HD5 needed repaired (cracking buttons fault) and they took it back from me and returned it to me in just over a week. Yeah, I was a bit peed off this morning when I went to buy my A1000 - they only had the violet ones left in Comet. Still, my choice (black) is available from their online store with 2-5 days delivery (and £15 cheaper) so I guess I can wait!
oh i don't know what to do, am torn between the beauty of the sony walkman and the not-having-to-be-tied-into-using-tricky-software benefit of the iRiver......aggh!
