| TV Forum threads and Thread Tagging With the introduction of thread tagging and the imminent flood of news coming in for the September series, I'd like to suggest (and I'll probably be splitting threads appropriately when the time comes) that instead of a Season 2 / Season 30 thread for future episodes that folk create seperate threads to discuss episodes.
For example - currently there is a 24: Day 7 and a Doctor Who Season 30 / 4 thread and these should be used for rumours and debate leading up to the start of the new season. Come the new seasons I'll be starting or splitting off posts in those threads (and other threads) to a "24: Day 7, Hour 1" or "Doctor Who - 30x01 - title of episode" threads for discussion strictly related to those threads with the appropriate tags on each thread to link them to the specific season / series.
After some discussion with other mods, it's both a way to promote tag use on AltNation (which I'm told is a great idea and very Web 2.0), as well as prevent folks (like Vonnie) from objecting that they can't read a long multi-episode thread without reading spoilers accidentally. As such, it doesn't mean that hide tags go away - if you've read someplace that there are some character changes on the show to be done in an ep and post it ahead of time, use some bloody hide tags. If there's something major that happens in the episode, be considerate and stick it in hide tags if it's truly spoilerific (character death, major plot changes and the like)
Doesn't affect us right now, but come September - just watch me on the clicky buttons. |
