| Burn Notice (Bruce Campbell) Burn Notice debuted here in the US about 2 months back and I've been neglecting my duties as a longtime Campbell fanatic to dip my toe in and test the waters. Even in spite of my trusted compatriots telling me how wonderful the show is, and how refreshing it is to see new tv before September's smorgasbord of new seasons and 1-shot wonders from the Fox network.
Here's the deal. You like Bruce Campbell. I like Bruce Campbell. We all like Bruce Campbell. Just watch the show already. Don't even bother asking what it's about, all you want to see is Bruce Campbell.
Still reading? Feh, fine.
A "burn notice" is something that the CIA/FBI etc sends around to other government agencies when either a source of information goes bad or someone quits under harsh circumstances. The burn notice serves to note to other agencies that this person is not to be trusted and should not be considered an accurate source of information or reliability.
The show is about some guy Michael or something or other, who is a former covert ops agent. His last mission (which was non-Bruce Campbell related and therefore wasn't very interesting) resulted in his being sent to Florida to hide out from bad bad people, and where he could eventually meet Bruce Campbell.
He becomes a private investigator/freelance spy in order to make ends meet since the government's frozen his bank accounts.
Gabrielle Anwar (some burd from England) plays a former IRA member with a bad Irish accent that gets discarded around episode two-ish - because it's so easy for adults to just discard the accents from their place of birth and 'fit in' better with South Florida locals. She had a relationship or something with that Michael guy so things are still awkward between the two.
Finally, we get to the good stuff, with Bruce Campbell playing Sam Axe - former spy who gets all the ladies in Florida. He's the "guy what knows a guy" that'll get you anything you want - money, weapons, fantastical Q equipment - all while flashing the big friendly-guy smile from atop his amazingly well-formed chin.
As always with these American shows, no known release date to the UK if ever. |

| Re: Burn Notice (Bruce Campbell) I've been watching it religiously since it started. I'm enjoying it. Not the most rivetting TV but enjoyable none the less. Campbell is good in it and it hasn't started to bore me yet the way some shows do with the repetitive nature each week. |

Yes they have. The last couple of weeks have had Sam (Campbell) digging info from his FBI contacts and Fiona (Anwar) setting Michael up with some of her more dodgy middle eastern contacts to rattle the cage of whoever the Burn Notice came from. Last weeks in particular was excellent. |
