It’s to do with them opting for Microsoft-based DRM for their files. Microsoft don’t offer any compatible player code for Macs or Linux.
The streaming content was built using Flash and Air, so that only became Mac compatible when Adobe updated it’s Air tech for Macs. Same story again, really.
