24 TV Movie Coming This Fall!

While it sucks we won't get a full season of Jack Bauer until Jan '09, at least they're going to hook us up with a 2 hour prequel (to take place between S6 AND S7) in the Fall!

Fox's "24" will be returning in the fall, after all.

The producers of the Emmy-winning series are developing a two-hour "prequel" to the upcoming seventh season.

The movie, designed to bridge the two-year gap between Seasons 6 and 7, is targeted to air in the fall, leading to the January return of the real-time drama. On Wednesday, "24" producers began securing the show's core cast members for the film.

"Fall" is actually an English word, not an American one. It was in common usage at the time when people were emigrating to America, and while our language here in Britain reverted back to "Autumn," the early American settlers continued using it and it stuck to this day.

Same for words like "gotten" and "diaper."

Why would they have a movie that acts as a prequel to season seven on television after season seven is finished? Seven kicks off January 2009.

I'm sayin a 2 hour movie would be good because they would HAVE to plan out the arc, and not go with this 'make it up on the fly' bullshit they've been doing for so long. 4 and 5 were weak looking back aye, but I think they were worlds above 6. 4 and 5 had whatshisname Eyzeck? The evil president. What a fucking performance he gave for those seasons... If they make a new season, which they seem to be alluding to, they need more than a set relocation to revamp the show and garner at least my interest.

Fox has released details of the forthcoming 24 television movie, which will serve as a prequel to the delayed seventh season of the real-time show.

The broadcaster has stated that the two-hour special, which has been shot on location in South Africa, features Jack Bauer battling an "international crisis" while America is to have a new President to follow Wayne Palmer.

24's executive producer Howard Gordon stated: "We're excited about the prequel because it explores Jack's complex emotional state of mind and still has all the signature excitement and suspense that fans have come to expect from 24. Shooting in South Africa affirms everyone's commitment to making this season especially memorable for our fans."

Robert Carlyle of Trainspotting and 28 Weeks Later is going to pay "Jack's mentor" in the 24 prequel.

Jack Bauer seems to have a lot of mentors - isn't this about his fourth one?
