2. It's still instantly-forgettable dreck.
3. Andy Abraham's effort was also piss-poor.
4. Robocop!
5. Was the lassie from Bosnia and Herzegovina secretly Cia Soro out of Whale? I thought she was Swedish.

| Re: Eurovision 2008. I believe one of the entrants this year was an entrant for a different country (Spain?) before.
Me and Becca decided to vote with our cookie-fuelled sense of fun and stupidity and spent 75p on Bos-Herz (SKIRT!), France (BEARDS!), Portugal (because she was the only completely serious one there who could DO IT RIGHT), Spain (GUITAR HEROBOCOP!) and... uh... someone else. NONE OF THEM WON, and we were annoyed, so we watched Have I Got News For You (Blessed version). That was far superior to Russia's entry.

| Re: Eurovision 2008. Wogan's a cunt, giving it "Thanks a lot, Malta" when they didn't give us any points. He pisses and moans about how the voting's all political and then starts greeting when Malta don't repay us for giving them a George Cross.
And there's always the "Germany giving Turkey 12 points, now there's a surprise" stuff, as well as getting all pissy when countries geographically close vote for each other. Ever occurred to him that maybe it's because they share similar cultures, and thus people from that area will like the same sort of music? there's a large Turkish community in Germany, is he too stupid to realise that they might well like songs with a Turkish theme to them and vote accordingly?
When Lordi won 2 years ago, was every country suddenly sucking Finland's cock? No, people just voted for a good song (which is the reason, incidentally, that Britain keeps coming nowhere).
And let's be honest, if he was a touch less retarded, he might have realised that if the voting was political, then there's no fucking way that Bosnia would have given Serbia 12 points.
Fucking prick, and I'll be glad if he quits the role. Get someone in who can have a laugh at the cheesiness without resorting to his xenophobia-lite. |

| Re: Eurovision 2008. Given the BBC's current programming line-up, they'd probably get one of the hosts of those shite talent shows to do it. John Barrowman or Graham Norton. |

| Re: Eurovision 2008. John Barrowman SHOUTING THROUGH THE ENTIRE PROGRAMME would be better than Graham Norton, I guess.
Just checked and saw that the UK came last with 14 points, and on listening to the actual song there it's not surprising. Letting the public vote for it is a huge mistake. This is the same public that improved the BNP's position in the last council election and decided that Boris Johnston would be a solid choice for London Major. |

Also, as bland, derivative and utterly crap Britain's entry was, we were still slightly better than Germany in terms of interest and musical ability (AT LEAST OUR BINMAN SANG IN TUNE!). I think tying with their awful group is more humiliating than coming last.

Of course it only got 14 points, it sounded more Anerican that European. Even if the UK had split and been 4 seperate entries then that song
wouldn't have done much better. They shoulda got that Welsh operatic guy from Pop Idol to represent the UK, every performance he did on that show was 110% Eurovision.
Terry Wogan was indeed being a miserable old prick last night. If that's how he thinks he can host the show these days then it's better off without him. I'd have got shitfaced on MD 20/20 and done a better job of it. |
